Problem: User Preferences, Layout settings, Reports, and selected Baselines are not saved
Problem:

I made changes to my layouts but the settings did not save after saving the layout and re-starting Project Manager.

Problem: User Preferences being reset to the defaults.
Problem: Any baseline that was selected to use will now be unchecked and the default of use current project as baseline will be set.
Problem: Large reports, particularly time-based reports are not saved.
Problem: Exception errors when running reports. For example:

Problem: How to increase the Blob Size and Blobs to Cache settings.
Fix:

Increase the Blob Size and Blobs to Cache settings in the BDE Administrator.


To change an existing Database alias, perform the following:




  1. Choose Start, Settings, Control Panel.


  2. Double click on BDE Administrator.


  3. Click on the Databases Tab.


  4. Click on the database alias that you use to start Project Manager.


  5. Alter Blob Size to at least 1024.


  6. Alter Blobs to Cache to at least 64.


  7. Choose Object, Apply.

To ensure that this setting is the same for any new alias that is created, perform the following:




  1. Choose Start, Settings, Control Panel.


  2. Double click on BDE Administrator.


  3. Click on the Configuration Tab.


  4. Click Configuration, then Drivers, and then Native.


  5. If you are using an Oracle database, click on Oracle.If you are using Microsoft SQL Server, click MS SQL.


  6. Alter Blob Size to 1024.


  7. Alter Blobs to Cache to 64.


  8. Choose Object, Apply.

These steps need to be followed for each Project Manager Client.
