prim21036:How to assign Activity Code Values through the layout

1. Add the activity code as a column in the layout  (View, Columns, Activity Codes).
   
2. Group the layout by the code.  Make sure that the option “Hide if empty” is not checked for the grouping.

3. Notice that the code bands (blue above) will be empty, and the one with No Dept has all the activities.  Highlight the activities under the bottom band by selecting the first activity and using <shift> or <ctrl> key on the keyboard to select more than one activity.  Then place your mouse pointer on the left most column of the layout until it changes to a pointer with piece of paper on it and ‘click and drag’ the activities from the old band assignment to the new band value.  Do this for each of the values that you want to assign activities to.

Note: You may not assign new values that are not defined in the dictionary.  All Activity code values must first be defined in the dictionary. After they are defined in the dictionary, they can be assigned to activities.
