Problem: | How can a project be extracted once it has been Merged? |
Fix: | P3 does not have a feature to extract a project once it has been merged. Workaround: 1. Open the merged project. 2. Select Tools, Project Utilities, Export 3. Choose Add to create a new export specification. 4. Choose Contents of List, the All Current button will export the columns defined in the layout. Remember to include ALL activity information (activity codes, resources, logs, etc.) shown at the bottom of the export screen. 5. Create a filter on the Selection tab to export certain activities (those activities you would like to copy into a new project). Click Run to export the data. 6. Create a new project in P3. Make sure the Dictionary information is the same. Dictionary information can be transferred from one project to another. 7. Choose Tools, Project Utilities, Import to bring in the activities and their information into the new project. Set up the import specification with a path to the file to import. |
