Problem: What’s new in Expedition Professional 10.0?
Fact: Expedition 10i supports USB Dongle (Hardware lock). 

All previous versions support parallel port Dongle only.

Fix:


  • A new module for procurement has been added to Expedition.



  • You can add companies and contacts “on the fly” from anywhere in Expedition.



  • You can inactivate companies and contacts without deleting them.



  • The following improvements and additions have been made to RFIs:




    • RFIs can now be closed.



    • The question and answer sections have been enhanced.



    • You can distribute both questions and answers to your contacts.



    • You can assign access rights to the question and answer sections in addition to the overall RFI using the User Project Access dialog box.



  • When you e-mail a form using the E-mail dialog box, the e-mail includes a link to the actual Primavera document, which the recipient can click on to open the document in Expedition.



  • You can view the Submittal log in a bar chart.



  • The Cost Worksheet has a new feature called Custom Cost Worksheet, which is set in Project Settings. It is available in documents that have costing, and the data is costed to additional columns in the Cost Worksheet.



  • Two new dictionaries have been added for procurement: CSI Divisions and Purchase Types.



  • You can preview and print logs “as is” in Microsoft Excel (which includes printing selected layouts), keeping the formatting of the current log layout. Any layouts (grouping, filtering, or sorting) will preview and print as-is. To use this feature, open a log and choose Select an Action, Send to Excel, then click Go. When the log opens in Excel, you can use Excel’s functionality to print the log. Refer to the Microsoft Excel Help for more information on using Excel.



  • An option has been added to the Project Settings dialog box that gives you the ability to edit information in previous phases of Change Management.



  • An option has been added to the Project Settings dialog box that gives you the ability to copy custom fields from the previous phase when generating the next phase of Change Management.



  • You can use Brava! 5.0 to view and redline files that are attached to Primavera documents. If you set up Expedition to work with Brava! 5.0, and you have Brava! 5.0 configured, you can open an attached file in either Brava! 5.0 or the regular Expedition attachment window.  Brava! 5.0 is not a Primavera Product and needs to be purchased separately.  Please visit the following WEB site for more information:  http://www.infograph.com/products.htm



  • The new100.pbl contains updates and fixes to reports and forms for version 10.0.



  • Expedition supports Microsoft Office 2003.



  • Expedition supports the following versions of Microsoft Word: 2000, 2002, 2003. You can use the supported versions interchangeably.



  • Expedition supports 1024×768 and higher monitor resolution.



  • Expedition is available in Hungarian and French Canadian.



  • A new Custom Field type, ‘Description’, allows for more than 255 characters.
